How to Verify a Broker

Learn how to check a financial services company's identity, licence, regulator and official contact information before opening an account or transferring funds. This applies to any broker you're considering, not just us.

Before Using a Broker

  • Check the company's legal name
  • Confirm the regulator
  • Verify the licence number
  • Review the licensed activities
  • Confirm the official website domain
  • Confirm official email and telephone details
  • Review legal documents and risk warnings

A licence should be verified through the regulator's own official website, never through a screenshot or a message someone else sends you. If you can't find it there yourself, treat that as your answer.

Common Warning Signs

Be cautious when someone:

  • Promises guaranteed profits
  • Claims trading is risk-free
  • Pressures you to transfer funds immediately
  • Uses an email address that doesn't match the company
  • Provides licence details that can't be verified
  • Requests payment to an unrelated personal account
  • Uses unofficial social media or messaging accounts
  • Refuses to provide legal or regulatory information

Even a genuine regulatory licence doesn't guarantee investment returns or remove financial risk. Verification protects you from fraud; it doesn't protect you from ordinary market risk, and no legitimate firm will tell you otherwise.
